The School 
The Shipley School, located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, is a distinguished private, coeducational day school serving students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The Position 
The Head of School is the sole employee of the Board of Trustees and serves as the chief administrator, educational, and community leader who ensures that all members of Shipley School are known and respected. The head of school embodies, communicates, and champions the mission of the school reflected in Shipley's Mission, Vision, and Values, while helping the community grow and thrive into the future, and is the principal spokesperson to all the school's constituents. The head has overall responsibility for the management of the school and is steward of the Shipley community. The head works closely and collaboratively with the School's Board of Directors.  The Head in collaboration with the Board President and full board of trustees is responsible for leading the strategic planning process and manages and directs the school's administrative team to accomplish stated goals in the school's strategic plan, "Vision 20/26,"to achieve the school's mission and vision.

The Board is seeking a permanent Head of School with:

•Ability to build and sustain trust with all constituencies, through communication that is timely, clear, and thoughtful.
•The experience, confidence, and strength of character to lead this good and energetic school.
•A passion for K-12 education who will embrace Shipley's unique culture and identity.
•A personality that delights in being out and about on campus visiting classes, engaging with parents in the community, talking shop with teachers in their classrooms, and takes great joy in the company of children.
•The energy and enthusiasm to engage the community and create a culture of philanthropy by advancing the Shipley mission and role modeling Shipley values.
•The inspirational public speaking skills that will ensure that Shipley's reputation in the greater educational community will continue to be stellar.
