Ransom Everglades School (RE), a top-tier independent day school in the Miami-Coconut Grove area, seeks a collaborative and intellectually curious specialist in curriculum and faculty professional development to serve as its inaugural director of teaching and learning. The director will join one of the world's leading independent schools as it renews its curriculum to enhance its reputation for excellence and ensure its pedagogical edge. This role presents an opportunity to partner with academic leadership, including the head of school, the heads of middle and upper school, and department chairs, to shape curricular and professional development goals for the School's faculty in service to the mission of Ransom Everglades.
Reporting to the head of school, the director of teaching and learning will serve as the School's curricular leader and will apply a deep understanding of the sequence of grades six through 12 to articulate and execute an updated vision for an innovative and rigorous, skills-based curriculum. The director will partner with academic leadership and work alongside a multigenerational faculty to ensure the successful execution of this academic vision.
The director will demonstrate deep knowledge of curricular best practices and research, student learning outcomes, and postgraduate placement and will be skilled at navigating through ambiguity and managing through complexity. The director will leverage the talents and expertise of the faculty and employ exceptional communication and relational skills to lead a faculty through change.
