Admissions & Relations

Job Description

Toronto, Ontario

One of North America’s foremost boys’ schools, Upper Canada College provides transformational learning experiences within an environment of teamwork, care, and mutual respect. Founded in 1829 with a commitment to public purpose, UCC is a progressive, high-performance school that values learning, pluralism, service, community, and wellbeing. A UCC experience is about celebrating differences, cherishing similarities, and giving voice to multiple perspectives – inspiring each boy to be his best self and to make a lasting and positive impact on his world.

The only all-boys’ International Baccalaureate Continuum World School in North America, UCC enrolls 1,260 students in Senior Kindergarten through Year 12, including boarding students from around the world. UCC has one of the most generous financial assistance programs among independent schools in Canada, offering more than $6 million annually. The College’s graduates are highly regarded by top universities worldwide, and alumni include leaders and innovators in politics, finance, arts, athletics, media, and beyond.

Vice-Principal, Enrollment Management

Reporting to the Principal, the Vice-Principal, Enrollment Management will advance the implementation of UCC’s strategic enrolment management plan. In addition to contributing to the development and achievement of whole-school priorities as a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice-Principal will lead the Admission team in actively recruiting the most talented, high-potential students from across the Greater Toronto Area for UCC’s day program, and from across Canada and worldwide for the boarding program. Together with the Admission team, the Vice-Principal will run a range of on-campus and off-campus events, and work closely with the Finance Office to manage the College’s financial assistance program.

With strategic enrollment management leadership experience, ideally in an independent or international school, you are a relationship builder who inspires trust and leads with vision, compassion, and warmth. You understand that multiple factors make for a student body that thrives academically and socially, reflects the pluralism and promise of Canada, and is a testament to community spirit and service within and beyond the College grounds. Committed to the transformative power of education and to advancing UCC’s values, you will embrace the opportunity to work with a dedicated team and a well-established, equitable, faculty-engaged and student-centred admissions process to attract a diverse group of students to UCC. Together with the Admissions team, you will engage in marketing and outreach activities, including expanding upon existing partnerships with community organizations, to reach boys who will derive the greatest possible benefit from what UCC has to offer. As the College approaches its 200th year educating the leaders of tomorrow, this is an opportunity to advance that mission by creating unforgettable first impressions that develop into long-term relationships that transcend graduation.
